To fix this, I either let it sit there for 10 minutes (which may or may not work) or just power cycle the machine until it magically starts working.

I can't login, much less launch an emergency terminal. Without fail, I am presented with my GTK greeter, except there is no keyboard or mouse input detected. If I leave the timer to run out, each "second" will take upwords of 30 seconds to pass. Arrow keys / Enter takes 10+ seconds to respond. When I reboot, I am presented with the systemd-boot menu, where there is a 5 second countdown to automatically launch the highlighted OS. The only way to recover is to do a hard reset by holding the power button. No keyboard or mouse input is registered. However, this problem occurred when I was running Ubuntu 16.04 as well.īasically, at seemingly random times the entire system will freeze. I am using a Late 2015 MacBook Pro running Arch and i3.
